Playstation 3 costs finalised:

The Playstation 3 is to hit the shelves from $430 the 20Gb version being $600 and the 60Gb version being $600. But don't worry Playstation fans, im sure it will be worth it!!

Playstation reveals its true controller for the Playstation 3:

After heavy criticism of the old "boomerang" shaped controller, Sony have scrapped it and gone for a much more old school approach. The new controller looks allot like the existing dual shock 2 playstation 2 controller but with slight ergonomic tweaks.

It has become clear that Sony know their competition all too well, by the look of it they have stolen part of the game cubes design (the most comfortable controllers around), the R2 and L2 buttons are placed slightly higher to allow a comfortable feel for the user. Sony have also included X-Y-Z, pitch, roll, yaw, and lateral motion detection, in other words, it has well and truly robed the Nintendo Wii of its competitive edge and its unique selling point.

As you can see, the new controller looks very impressive and is fully fitted with blue tooth wireless technology, motion sensors and it's even lighter than the playstation 2 controllers. The additions includes the centre button which I assume activates the wireless control and a USB attachment to connect it to the playstation 3 wired.
Don't get to excited though because here comes the bad news..... the vibration features that we all got to know and love in the original playstation 2 controllers have been removed as they interfere with the wireless function. I assume this is because of the inbuilt motion sensor.

Will this change the realism of the game-play??

Sony delays their Playstation 3 Euro launch date:

Sony are claiming that there is problems with the mass production of their blue-ray disk reader, remember that this will be the first disk reader of its kind so there are bound to be problems, but if it does work without a hitch, it should be awesome.

Anyone in the US or Japan do not have to worry about this little delay, however the fact that Sony are using their safety net might suggest that there may be problems with the Playstation 3.

Sony have always chosen to launch in the US and Japan before releasing it to the rest of the world. This is so that if anything was to go wrong, they could recall all of the consoles on a relatively small scale compared to a worldwide launch. They had previously announced that they were going to preform a worldwide release of the PS3, the fact that they have reverted to their old strategy suggests they may be expecting problems.

The Playstation 3 should hit Europe in March 2007, personally I prefer this to the worldwide release, if you remember how much of a hassle it was to get an Xbox 360 on release then you will know what I mean.

This gives the Xbox 360 a significant head start over the Playstation 3, the battle might end up like the Playstation 2 is to the original Xbox. The Nintendo Wii is however apparently still on track to release before Christmas, see the latest Nintendo Wii news for more.

I hope this console gets launched without a hitch or it could be the end for Sony (based on previous news stories).
